About The Position

Great Basin College (GBC) is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Worker 3 for the Buildings and Grounds Department. This position will perform a wide variety of landscape and gardening duties. Duties include, but are not limited to: planting, pruning; mowing, trimming, watering, and fertilizing; applying herbicide; weeding; operating hand power tools and light mechanized equipment such as power mowers, and forklifts; maintaining grounds areas clean and free of trash, fallen leaves, snow and ice; operating light, medium and heavy equipment such as pickup trucks, tractors, sanders, plows and loaders; and other duties assigned.

Requirements

• This position requires one (1) year of experience performing grounds maintenance work using a variety of tools, equipment, and techniques; OR Six (6) months of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker II in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
• Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
• A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
• Position requires work outdoors, heavy lifting and working in inclement weather including snow removal.
