Position Overview The Grounds Maintenance Technician (Entry Level) performs routine groundskeeping and facility upkeep tasks to ensure that company sites remain clean, safe, and presentable. This position supports the Grounds & Facilities Maintenance Department and works under the direction of the Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Superintendent.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.

- Experience with groundskeeping equipment.
- Basic understanding of landscape or grounds maintenance.
- Previous work in utilities, parks, grounds, or facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, vegetation, and landscaped areas using mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
- Perform routine weed control, edging, pruning, raking, and debris removal.
- Assist with basic irrigation system checks and report any issues.
- Apply fertilizers or herbicides as directed and in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Remove trash, fallen limbs, and debris from facility grounds.
- Maintain clear access paths, gates, and driveways.
- Assist with minor fence line clearing and brush control.
- Support maintenance technicians by clearing work areas or staging materials.
- Assist with light facility tasks such as cleaning exterior surfaces, organizing materials, or performing minor repairs under supervision.
- Follow all company safety protocols, including PPE use, equipment handling, and reporting hazards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment around all company facilities.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or security concerns.
- Safely operate push mowers, riding mowers, weed trimmers, blowers, and basic hand tools.
- Perform basic equipment cleaning and report maintenance needs.
- Properly load, unload, and secure equipment for transport.
