About The Position

ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex). We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. Description: Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily and long-term work assignments for grounds maintenance staff to meet contract requirements Conduct daily safety briefings and assign duties to grounds staff Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) all grounds care, including but not limited to irrigation, turf treatment, mulching, bed care, and storm clean-up response Inspect grounds regularly to identify areas requiring attention and ensure work meets quality standard sand contract requirements Oversee maintenance and replacement of grounds related equipment (mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, hand tools, vehicles etc.) ensuring operational readiness Purchase, track, and maintain on-hand materials and supplies to ensure adequate levels for uninterrupted mission execution Liaise regularly with government contract representatives to plan and schedule grounds project sand discuss work center progress Lead ground team in the field setting priorities in daily work area, tackling advanced tasks, and assisting team with pruning, mowing, weed eating, and all other landscaping duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Shall possess at least five (3) years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in field management of commercial/industrial grounds maintenance with specific experience in scheduling and supervising a grounds workforce, as well as long term plant health planning and maintenance for acreage approximate in size to FLETC Charleston.
  • Shall have professional knowledge of turf maintenance, plant health treatment, bedding, soil, tree maintenance, pruning, vegetation, removal, fertilizer application, weed control, and other landscaping
  • Must be a US Citizen with either a US Passport or REAL ID.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to operate a motor vehicle and light equipment
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be comfortable in Microsoft Office suite skills to include Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift including some weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and physical exam.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Floriculture or Arboriculture.
