About The Position

ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in North Charleston. We are seeking a Grounds Maintenance Lead to support daily grounds maintenance operations. Roles/Responsibilities: Serve as a working lead by assisting the Grounds Maintenance Manager in coordinating daily work assignments and ensuring task completion. Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to grounds staff while performing fieldwork. Monitor assigned areas to ensure grounds appearance meets contract standards. Assist in training new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and grounds maintenance best practices. Communicate equipment, material, or supply needs to the Grounds Maintenance Manager. Perform turf maintenance including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing. Maintain landscape beds including pruning, mulching, weeding, and plant replacement. Assist with irrigation system inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and seasonal winterization. Operate and maintain commercial landscaping equipment safely and properly. Remove debris and maintain clean, professional building entrances and common areas. Identify and report safety hazards, irrigation issues, or property damage to management. Support special projects such as seasonal plantings, erosion control, drainage improvements, and beautification initiatives. Other duties as assigned by Manager. Requirements: Minimum 2–3 years of commercial grounds maintenance or landscaping experience preferred. Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid Real ID or U.S. Passport. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate company vehicles and grounds equipment. Demonstrated experience operating commercial landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.). Working knowledge of irrigation systems, plant health, turf care, and safe equipment operation. Ability to provide on-the-job guidance and technical direction to team members. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to pass a background check and physical. Must be available Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm, with occasional weekend or after-hours work.
