Henderson Golf Course has an opening for Grounds Maintenance Lead Worker. Under general supervision, the Grounds Maintenance Lead Worker will perform skilled maintenance tasks in the care of landscaped areas and supervise a crew of unskilled or semi-skilled workers. The role involves developing and maintaining a year-round grounds and landscaping program based on accepted standards. Responsibilities include cultivating, watering, and trimming hedges, lawns, trees, and shrubs in planted areas in and out of buildings, maintaining underground sprinkler systems, laying sod, and mowing lawns by hand or with power-driven equipment. Additionally, the Lead Worker will maintain a chemical herbicide program to control garden pests and undesirable vegetation, serve as the lead worker responsible for training and scheduling assigned employees, and may operate medium-weight equipment such as a small backhoe, hole augers, or other grounds maintenance equipment. The position requires working as part of the Critical Work Force Category 2, being on call on a 24-hour rotating basis, and being able to work nights and weekends in emergencies. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
