With seven primary facilities and 27 neighborhood parks, the Park District is an integral part of a thriving multi-generational community. The District covers over 11 square miles and serves a region of over a quarter million residents in Mount Prospect and surrounding communities. The Mt. Prospect Park District's Grounds Department is looking for seasonal Grounds Maintenance Laborers for the Summer of 2026. The part-time, Grounds Maintenance Laborer performs routine maintenance of parks and facilities under the direction of the Grounds Department Manager. The part-time Summer Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Laborer can expect to work 35-40 hours per week between May and August, but less than 1,000 hours per year. Grounds Maintenance Laborers must be at least 18 years old and be able to successfully pass a criminal background check. The Grounds Maintenance Laborer must possess a valid driver’s license, and must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Illinois Class “C” driver’s license, if requested. The starting pay rate for this position is $16.00 per hour. Park District part-time employees also receive facility privileges and discounts.
