About The Position

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License with less than 6 points.
• Minimum of one year experience in grounds maintenance operations.
• Must obtain a valid State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement within 6 months of hire.

• Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of proper care and storage of chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance of buildings and grounds in a clean and presentable manner.
• Ensure safety of students during maintenance activities.
• Assist in lawn mowing at all facilities.
• Service and maintain trucks, tractors, and lawn mowers.
• Participate in shoveling, painting, and repairing equipment.
• Install and repair guardrails, playground equipment, and chain link fences.
• Repair cracks and holes in asphalt and concrete surfaces.
• Assist in operating rollers and graders for track preparation.
• Operate bucket truck for flag pole repairs and tree maintenance.
• Perform warehouse work including inventory and furniture assembly.
• Deliver inter-building mail and testing materials to schools.
• Haul materials such as salt, sand, and gravel using dump truck.
• Operate front loader and tow motor for material movement.
• Assist in snow and ice removal using plow and salt spreader.
• Receive, store, and distribute grounds materials and supplies.
• Maintain safety and maintenance records.
• Prepare athletic fields for competition.
