The position involves working as part of the grounds crew under the direction of the Cemetery Grounds Superintendent. Responsibilities include skilled grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, irrigating, fertilizing, weed control, fall clean up, and winterization. The role also includes setting up for funeral services, which involves digging graves, setting vaults/liners, opening and sealing crypts and niches, and lowering caskets into graves. Additional duties include setting granite memorial markers, monuments, benches, and performing snow plowing/removal and backhoe work.
