About The Position

The Driver/Laborer/Construction/Grounds position is responsible for the maintenance and operations of The Wild Sanctuary grounds, including custodial duties, facility operations, and grounds upkeep. The role involves evaluating daily work orders, driving and transporting deliveries, and communicating effectively with management. The position requires physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and performing outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of work experience in a related field preferred.
• Knowledgeable with heavy equipment and maintenance preferred but not required.
• CDL is not required but is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and communication skills.
• Able to bend, lift, and work outdoors in various elements.
• Grounds maintenance experience is a plus.
• Box Truck Driving Experience is a plus.
• Possess a valid Colorado driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and operations of The Wild Sanctuary grounds including custodial, maintenance, facility operations, and grounds upkeep.
• Evaluates daily work orders and prioritizes tasks as needed.
• Driving, operating, picking up, and transporting deliveries as required.
• Communicates matters involving facilities, grounds, and transportation in a timely manner with the Director of Operations and Executive Director.
• Exercising sound independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
• Perform light excavation using shovels, picks, and other equipment to dig trenches and level ground.
• Able to lift 75lbs or more and perform physical tasks such as climbing, crawling, and stooping.
• Remove snow in winter conditions and keep outdoor areas safe during inclement weather.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment and discretion.
