About The Position

Collin County is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the exterior of facilities. This role involves landscaping tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming, as well as applying chemicals and maintaining irrigation systems. The Groundskeeper will operate heavy equipment and perform maintenance duties under the direction of the Facilities Technical Coordinator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous experience with lawn equipment such as weed-eaters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mow and edge lawns to maintain the exterior of facilities.
• Transplant, cut, and trim trees, shrubs, and ground cover.
• Apply herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals as needed.
• Install and maintain irrigation systems, including repairs to electrical wiring and plumbing.
• Program digital controllers for irrigation systems.
• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders, and tractor-mounted trenchers, tillers, and sprayers.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
