About The Position

Principal Function: The Grounds Crew position is responsible for performing gardening, landscaping, snow removal and grounds maintenance helping to provide a safe, clean and aesthetically appealing environment. Provides maintenance of irrigation systems, pathways and paved surfaces.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintains physical condition and appearance of all non-historic public areas
  • Prunes trees and hedges, mows lawn, removes weeds, edges walkways and maintains exterior areas
  • Mixes and applies fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals following manufacturer’s directions and departmental guidelines
  • Prepares soil for planting and maintains beds and grass around buildings
  • Maintains flowers and plants in public gardens and all grounds.
  • Helps perform routine road and parking lot maintenance and repair to include snow removal from parking and pedestrian areas
  • Identifies and assists with exterior repairs
  • Provides assistance as needed in other areas of Conner Prairie
