About The Position

Grow Landscaping is seeking a motivated and experienced Grounds Crew Leader to oversee the daily landscaping and maintenance operations across multiple properties. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring the grounds team delivers consistent, high-quality results while maintaining a safe, clean, and professional environment. The Grounds Crew Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager and serves as a working supervisor for the crew.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, degree or certification in Landscaping, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in landscaping, maintenance, or related trade.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train and motivate others while maintaining a positive team atmosphere.
  • Dependable and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
  • Walk 2–6 miles per day while carrying equipment weighing over 20 lbs.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Must be available for flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily reviews with the Operations Manager to plan and review the day’s schedule.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager regarding staffing needs, performance, and crew concerns.
  • Load and fill gas cans, mowers, and other equipment, check fluids and tire pressure daily.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are secure, loaded properly, and in working condition before departure.
  • Perform and oversee landscape maintenance tasks on customer properties, ensuring all work meets Grow standards.
  • Manage and complete landscape projects including, but not limited to, leaf and debris removal, bed edging, and mulch installation.
  • Supervise and participate in daily grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing of curbs and sidewalks.
  • Provide on-the-job training and direction to crew members, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Apply chemical treatments as needed and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Operations Manager immediately.
  • Promote and enforce the proper use of safety equipment and personal protective gear at all times.
  • Communicate customer concerns or property issues to the Operations Manager promptly and provide updates to clients when required.
