About The Position

Responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of all outside facility grounds, under the direct supervision of the Landscaping Manager by performing the duties as described below.

Requirements

Must have high school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in an educational program to attain the same.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Team Members of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
While employed, must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License.
The Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
The Team Member is occasionally required to sit.
The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and /or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and /or move more than 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Cuts lawns.
Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
Rakes and bags or burns leaves.
Cleans grounds and removes litter.
Keeps exterior building surfaces and walkways visually pleasing.
Spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Waters lawn and shrubs.
Paints fences and outbuildings.
Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
Other duties as assigned.
Creates an atmosphere of FUN for all casino guests.
Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all Team Members, by setting positive examples at all times.
Maintains a professional departmental, company and community reputation.
To provide a safe work environment for Team Members, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.
