About The Position

The Grounds and Nursery Specialist 3 at Washington State University is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the WSU Spokane Campus. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in grounds maintenance or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience working with grounds maintenance equipment.
• Physical ability to perform the required tasks and work a flexible schedule.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with computerized irrigation systems.
• Familiarity with personal computers for irrigation software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate motorized grounds equipment such as trucks, tractors, and mowers.
• Install, inspect, and repair sprinkler systems; operate irrigation computer systems.
• Maintain landscape plant material, including pruning and fertilizing.
• Ensure litter control in designated areas and maintain walkways by clearing snow and debris.
• Lead personnel in grounds maintenance tasks and analyze workloads to prioritize and delegate work.
