About The Position

Work for this classification is designed to assist line crew or network crew members by working on the ground, handling tools and heavy materials to workers. Digging holes, padding ditches, and performing similar work in connection with the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground power lines. This position is the highest of a multi-step progression and is expected to know all aspects of Groundman duties for the Company. Lower steps in this classification are expected to progress into all aspects of these duties.

Requirements

  • Requires good mechanical and electrical aptitude, communication skills and electricity training helpful.
  • Requires valid commercial driver's license.
  • Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
  • Positions may vary and are located within our Washington and Idaho service territory; assignments are determined by business needs.
  • Selected applicants will participate in field performance evaluations in Spokane, Washington during the week of February 17, 2026.

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Current, state-issued driver's abstract, also known as driver's record (no older than 6 months)
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug test, background check and motor vehicle records review.
  • This position is considered safety-sensitive under the Department of Transportation regulations 49 CFR Part 40 and may be subject to pre-employment drug and/or alcohol testing as well as other testing and training requirements as mandated by federal law.
