About The Position

Assists Line Technicians in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the electric distribution system and associated equipment. This is an entry-level position that provides on-the-job training and experience necessary for advancement to Line Technician C. The individual in this role is expected to demonstrate progress in learning the skills, safety procedures, and technical knowledge required to perform higher-level line work under the guidance of experienced personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• Obtain a class "A" commercial driver's permit within the first six months of hire and successfully complete the CDL school to obtain License
• Train to climb poles, use a chain saw and to perform pole top and bucket rescue
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operations prior to hiring
• Skills necessary to operate a digger derrick, bucket truck, forklift, and voltmeter
• Serve on regular standby but assists in major storm damage under the direct supervision of an A class Line Technician
