About The Position

The Ground Support Equipment Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, and safe operating condition of all ground support equipment (GSE), machinery, Building, property, and vehicles to applicable standards all while meeting cost, quality, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in leading GSE repairs, maintenance, and maintaining inventory for replacement parts.
  • Must be able to work independently, with little or no supervision
  • Valid state driver’s license and meet the company’s insurability requirements.
  • Prior experience with managing contractors and vendors
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to read and understand OEM maintenance and parts manuals
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer relations skills required.
  • Ability to work a shift schedule: 20 days on / 10 days off, which may include, nights, weekends, overnights, and holidays
  • Ability to travel to the different Maintenance locations and remain overnight with short notice
  • Knowledge of use of PPE and safety protocol due to possible exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, vapors, or mists.
  • Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform where applicable, the maintenance, and upkeep of the maintenance facility to ensure the safe operating condition of the facility and vehicles.
  • Ensures facilities and its contents are kept in a clean and presentable condition.
  • Manage work schedules with contractors and internal labor as directed by GSE/Tooling Manager to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Proactively plans and requests for new maintenance products and equipment as necessary.
  • Oversee the preventative maintenance and repair of all GSE equipment for daily operations.
  • Manages all GSE material and supply inventory and coordinates with vendors and Purchasing for the ordering of all replacement parts.
  • Responsible for coordinating contractors and inspecting construction and installation progress, repair and removal of equipment and utilities within the facilities.
  • Ensure that all work is performed to National Airlines quality standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and actively engage in continuous improvement activities.
  • Additional functions as delegated by the GSE/Tooling Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned.
