About The Position

UAA is dedicated to training the next generation of pilots. United Aviate Academy, United’s wholly owned flight school, is creating a pathway to the flight deck for aspiring aviators through an accelerated and rigorous flight training program focused on instruction and safety. What will you be doing? As a Ground School Proctor/Mentor, you will perform the duties of a Ground and Advanced Instrument instructor, ensuring students understand and practice all aspects of the United Aviate Academy’s Aviation Safety Program. You will proctor and mentor instructors who provide ground and instrument training in accordance with FAA regulations and UAA policies, maintain training records, and ensure students meet training requirements.

Requirements

• Extensive understanding of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and aviation regulations.
• AGI and IGI Certificate.
• FAA AGI, IGI certifications required.
• Excellent communication skills (listening, oral, and written).
• Customer service-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aviation scheduling systems.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations, United Airlines policies, and aviation best practices.
• Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items.
• Strong decision-making ability and professionalism.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Part 121 line operations experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred (e.g., Aviation, Business Administration).

Responsibilities

• Proctor instructors and students to ensure quality and consistency of ground school instruction.
• Maintaining student training records and ensuring FAA ACS course standards are met.
• Maintain student training records in compliance with 14 CFR Part 141 and UAA policies.
• Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met for all assigned students.
• Recommend improvements to curriculum and courseware.
• Foster a safe, caring, dependable, and efficient culture with students and staff.
• Perform other related duties as required.
