About The Position

As a Ground Maintenance Mechanic (GMM) in a stationary role at Delta, you will be responsible for the maintenance of stationary machinery and equipment, ensuring their optimal performance. This role involves performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on various ground support equipment, including passenger loading bridges and baggage handling systems. The position requires a minimum of 6 months of experience in an industrial powered mechanical environment and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience in an industrial powered mechanical environment.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to industrial powered systems.
• High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States.
• Proficient in English and able to lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read and apply information from technical documents and manuals.
• Strong communication skills for teamwork and coordination with vendors.
• Experience in time-sensitive repair situations.
• Completion of a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school or related military experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on passenger loading bridges, including interior and exterior components.
• Inspect and maintain air handler hoses, adapters, air filters, and condensate pans.
• Repair and replace gear boxes, bearings, shafts, and belts.
• Manage the baggage handling system (BHS) control rooms and resolve bag jams.
• Maintain ground power cables and associated clamping/saddles.
• Service stationary equipment such as water cabinets, loading bridges, and air handling systems.
• Conduct small component repairs and build-up of non-specialized components.
