About The Position

JBS is hiring for quality, motivated people to join the JBS team on our production floor as maintenance mechanic/electrician. These positions include but are not limited to the following duties: Repairs and maintains electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read English.
  • Must be able to perform basic math.
  • Must be able to lift 70lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance.
  • Must be able to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must have specific vision abilities including distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the building, mechanical and/or electrical trades.
  • Goal oriented and possess root cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow company safety policies with no exceptions.
  • Perform all Predictive Maintenance scheduled for them on their shift.
  • Complete monthly training module assigned to them.
  • Maintain shop 6S policies and cleanliness.
  • Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
  • Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
  • Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems.
  • Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues arise.
  • Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery.
  • Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources.
  • Communicate with their supervisors on findings during the troubleshooting of any equipment.
  • Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery.
  • Able to navigate and/or modify equipment settings/recipes to help improve production efficiencies.
  • Work 40+ hours per week in all areas of the plant.
  • Tend to other duties as needed.
