About The Position
The mission of Lake Junaluska is to be a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through renewal of soul, mind and body. The Ground and Greens Tech assists with maintaining golf course appearance and equipment, including tasks such as mowing, weed eating, trimming trees, watering greens, and changing cups. This role also involves general course/turf maintenance and projects, assisting with equipment repairs, and routine maintenance. Responsibilities extend to cleaning, gassing, and preparing golf carts for daily operation, taking out trash, and maintaining the cleanliness of the parking lot, cart staging area, bag drop area, and cart storage area. The position requires excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of Christian hospitality to exceed guest expectations.
Requirements
- Possess excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of Christian hospitality to “exceed guest expectations”
- Possess a valid driver’s license or be willing to obtain
- Be able to safely operate all golf course equipment to include various types of mowers and turf equipment
- Be able to read and interpret instructions, equipment manuals, stickers, labels, and work orders to perform required duties as assigned
- Be able to reason to solve problems and apply common sense to carry out simple instructions
- Be able to allocate time efficiently, prioritize tasks, organize daily activity and multi-task projects/tasks
- Ability to perform job functions with an attention to detail, and the ability to quickly and accurately resolve issues as they arise
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, residents and co-workers when presenting job related information
- Have a positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile to complete the job
- Be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, multiple task demands, and work structures
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma
- Minimum 6-month golf course maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of how small engines operate
- Experience with construction equipment
- Skilled in the use of basic mechanic tools and hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, measuring instruments, hammers, drills
- Hospitality experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining golf course appearance and equipment
- Mowing and weed eating

- Clean and park golf carts
- Fill carts with gas and prepare golf carts for daily operation
- Take out trash as needed
- Maintain clean and neat surroundings of the parking lot, cart staging area, bag drop area, and cart storage area
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions immediately to supervisor or the Human Resources department
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required
