About The Position

Join a winning team!! SAIC's Space and Intelligence Business Group is currently hiring to advance space capabilities supporting our Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community customers. Ten miles from the SAIC headquarters, our Chantilly, VA team supports systems development, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration and more. This position is for a Ground Agile Software System Engineer for a large contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Ground Agile Software System Engineer oversees developer software development progress and provides program management support to the customer’s execution of the Program with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Bachelors and 9 years of relevant experience; OR Masters and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Satellite ground system experience.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Acquisition support experience.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification or similar.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and technologies.
  • Satellite command and telemetry (C&T) or Command and Control (C2) experience.
  • Software test experience.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Program Office at developer Agile events; ensuring that the customer and stakeholder needs are prioritized
  • Engage with Agile Development teams to assess implementation and execution
  • Track and report Agile software development progress using metrics, trend analysis, and capacity estimating validation. Compare progress metrics with program schedule, financial and EVM reports.
  • Provide programmatic support, such as SOW/CDRL development, budget planning, assessment of vendor proposals, and reviewing CDRLs, technical reports, design artifacts and program plans
  • Assess developer test approaches and serve as Customer Witness to integration, verification, and validation tests. Report results to the Program Office team.
  • Develop productive relationships with development contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other spacecraft, payload, and ground subject matter experts
  • Advise and mentor customer personnel regarding agile development principles
  • Identify and promote best practices to improve effectiveness of Program Office processes.
