This position is responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs or cats using the knowledge of grooming styles and techniques. The role involves delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining regular and predictable attendance, and working varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate. Key duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, generating business through customer outreach, booking appointments, greeting pets, and completing a thorough 7-point check-in. The groomer must report all accidents and injuries immediately to the Store Manager, follow outlined bathing/grooming procedures, clean ears, clip nails, and adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns. This includes using electric clippers, combs, and shears to clip and shape dogs' coats, and using non-physical techniques to keep animals calm. The position also requires completing and maintaining customer and company forms, adhering to all safety rules and standards, and monitoring animals for the Seven Critical Signs of Stress throughout their appointment. Maintaining cleanliness is crucial, involving sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning, and sanitizing cages and grooming areas, as well as sanitizing all grooming tools and equipment to prevent injury and disease spread. Additionally, the groomer will assist in store operations as needed.
