About The Position
The Groomer at The Hermitage Club plays a critical role in delivering world-class skiing and riding experiences by providing exceptional grooming and snow surface preparation. This position involves the safe and efficient operation of grooming equipment to maintain optimal ski and snowboard terrain. The Groomer also supports other departments with hauling and dozing tasks, all while promoting a positive and professional work environment. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions; must pass a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English fluently.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior grooming or heavy equipment operation experience strongly preferred.
- General understanding of ski area operations is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate grooming equipment (snowcats) in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
- Maintain mountain surfaces to the highest quality standard for skiers and riders of all abilities.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on grooming machinery and tools.
- Minimize downtime through proactive preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate with snowmaking and mountain operations teams to ensure cohesive surface management.
- Support snowmaking operations with general labor tasks when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including machines and the grooming shop.
- Follow daily work assignments and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management or the Grooming Foreman.
- Uphold the safety and operational standards of The Hermitage Club at all times.
