About The Position

The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The role involves establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The individual will be responsible for achieving sales and profit goals for the department while monitoring and controlling quality assurance standards. Additionally, the position requires assisting in directing and supervising all functions, duties, and activities for the department, supporting the day-to-day operations of the Grocery department, and demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
  • Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.

  • Monitor and control all established quality assurance standards.
  • Assist in directing and supervising all functions, duties, and activities for the department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of the Grocery operations.

  • Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Inform customers of grocery specials.
  • Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products.
  • Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
  • Demonstrate creative merchandising.
  • Condition all products in assigned sections according to company policy.
  • Maintain workload to guarantee that production deadlines are met.
  • Integrate key retailing work processes into daily department operations.
  • Ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity.
