The Grocery/Receiving Clerk at Kroger is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role involves assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, monitoring quality assurance standards, and promoting the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position is part of a larger team dedicated to providing excellent service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor all established quality assurance standards.

  • Report all safety risks or issues, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Develop and train DSD Receiver backup.
  • Ensure maximum security of the receiving area.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Manage inventory for all delivered products and process damaged/returned goods.
  • Check condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of received products.
  • Ensure shipping and receiving tools are working properly for smooth transitions into the store.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Any receiving experience.
  • Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
  • Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
