As a Grocery/Receiving Clerk at Kroger, you will play a vital role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department while monitoring all established quality assurance standards. Embracing the Customer 1st strategy is essential, as you will encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. You will also be expected to demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety in all aspects of your work. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing all safety risks or issues, including illegal activities such as robbery, theft, or fraud. You will notify management of any customer or employee accidents and develop and train a backup for the DSD Receiver. Ensuring maximum security of the receiving area is crucial, as is practicing preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair. You will reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions to notify store management. Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers is another critical aspect of your role, along with adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines. You will stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads, ensuring effective inventory management for all delivered products. Processing damaged or returned goods and completing the necessary paperwork will also be part of your responsibilities. You will check the condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of products received, ensuring that shipping and receiving tools are working properly to facilitate a smooth transition of products into the store and inventory logs. Additionally, you will maintain an awareness of inventory and stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity, including Computer Assisted Ordering, and report any product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager. Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise while promoting trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude will be essential to your success in this role.
