About The Position

Join us as a Grocery Orderer and play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory levels, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the daily operations of our Grocery Department.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of grocery vendors, products, ordering systems, and delivery schedules.
  • Analytical skills to identify trends, forecast needs, and interpret inventory data.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build strong vendor and coworker relationships.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to contribute positively to team culture.
  • Self-motivation with attention to accuracy, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good judgment in handling routine issues and escalating more complex concerns when needed.
  • Calm, objective demeanor under pressure with clear, respectful communication.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and varied schedules.
  • One year of retail experience with exposure to ordering and inventory management preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate equipment as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Order products within established budgets and margins while accounting for seasonality, promotions, and customer demand.
  • Run and analyze movement reports to forecast product needs and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and reduce shrink through proactive ordering, rotation, and short-date management.
  • Receive, check, and stock products following proper guidelines for merchandising, sanitation, pricing, and rotation.
  • Communicate with counterparts at other locations to coordinate orders, minimize out-of-stocks, and maintain consistency.
  • Handle new products, price changes, and departmental compliance with Idaho food safety and sanitation laws.
  • Manage short-dated or overstocked items by placing them on appropriate sale types to minimize loss.
  • Maintain organization of work areas, floor sets, and backstock to support efficiency and accessibility.
  • Serve as a communication link between associates and management to ensure workflow consistency.
  • Assist with building and maintaining product displays and participate in quarterly inventory counts.
