The Grocery Manager is responsible for the overall operation, leadership, and performance of the Grocery Department. This role ensures excellent customer service, strong sales performance, effective inventory management, regulatory compliance, and the development of a highly engaged team. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.   For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of retail grocery operations, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Proficient in basic computer systems and retail technology tools.
  • Ability to motivate teams and drive results through engagement and accountability.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail grocery management or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Grocery Department associates.
  • Schedule labor effectively to meet business needs and productivity standards.
  • Conduct performance observations, provide feedback, and support associate growth.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safety‑focused work environment.
  • Execute company merchandising plans, resets, and seasonal programs.
  • Ensure proper stocking, rotation, facing, and presentation of all products.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional displays.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory control to minimize shrink.
  • Drive sales, margin, and productivity results within established targets.
  • Manage department expenses, labor hours, and inventory levels.
  • Analyze sales trends and reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver an exceptional shopping experience by maintaining high service standards.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure product availability, quality, and cleanliness standards are met consistently.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with workplace safety, sanitation, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Support accurate completion of required documentation and audits.
