About The Position

The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Requirements

  • Retail experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable manner
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment for customers.
  • Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
  • Monitor established quality assurance standards.
  • Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values: respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Answer customer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers of Grocery GM specials and recommend items to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review 'sell by' dates and take appropriate action.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Execute CAO and Key Retailing Programs and maintain sales floor and backroom standards.
  • Perform price changes and ensure overall price integrity.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Report all safety risks, customer or employee accidents, and illegal activities.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
