About The Position

River Market Community Co-op is hiring a Full Time Grocery Clerk! Experience-based pay ranging from: $16.90 - $18.15 per hour Must have availability to work weekends. Candidates without availability to work weekends will not be considered. Work for a community-owned grocery store in downtown Stillwater and help support a sustainable local food system. Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Able to repetitively lift and carry 25 lbs, and occasionally 50 lbs
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
  • Able to remain on feet for long periods of time
  • Able to spend time working in refrigerated spaces
  • Availability to work including weekends and evenings
  • Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, and turn as needed.
  • Constant (67-100%): Walking, standing, lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist, talking, hearing, correctable vision including near acuity and depth perception
  • Frequent (34-66%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting/reaching waist to shoulder, lifting/reaching above the shoulder
  • Occasional (1-33%): Working in refrigeration, pushing, pulling, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waist, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist

Responsibilities

  • Perform established opening and closing procedures according to timeline determined by department manager
  • Receive shipments
  • Sort and stock merchandise
  • Ensure items returned, damaged, or dated are accurately recorded and properly disposed of
  • Assist customers with placing and picking up of special orders and provide price checks as requested
  • Follow all directions accurately and in accordance with established production guidelines
