About The Position

The Grocery Clerk-Freight is responsible for providing world-famous friendly customer service to customers, team members, and outside vendors. Key duties include merchandising, stocking, rotating product, facing, cashiering, bagging, and cleaning. The role involves transporting stock for storage in stock areas, ensuring store shelves are fully stocked according to ordering system requirements, and stocking shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise. Clerks are also responsible for keeping perishable merchandise rotated and pulling out-of-date products as needed. Customer interaction includes being observant, greeting customers, answering questions about merchandise, and advising on selection. The position requires maintaining a clean work area, including display cases, shelves, and aisles. Additional responsibilities include comparing merchandise invoices to items received, receiving, opening, unpacking, and issuing sales floor merchandise, as well as requisitioning and taking inventory to identify items for reorder or replenishment. Employees are expected to report to work on time, in proper attire, and prepared for their full shift, abiding by all company policies.

Responsibilities

Provide World Famous Friendly Customer Service to Customers, Team Members & Outside Vendors.
Merchandising, Stocking, Rotating Product, Facing, Cashier, Bagging, and Cleaning.
Transport stock for storage in stock areas.
Keep store shelves fully stocked according to ordering system requirements.
Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.

Be observant and greet customers who come into the store.

Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles.
Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
Compare merchandise invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.
Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise.
Requisition merchandise from supplier based on available space, merchandise on hand, customer demand, or advertised specials.
Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
Report to work on time as scheduled, in proper work attire, prepared for their full shift.
Abide by all company polices as stated in the employee handbook.
