About The Position

The position involves creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The role requires achieving sales and profit goals for the departments and monitoring quality assurance standards. The individual will direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the departments, supporting the day-to-day operations of Grocery, Natural Foods, Adult Beverage, and Drug/GM. Requirements

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
  • Must be 18 or older.

  • Grocery experience.
  • Retail experience.
  • Second language: speaking, reading, and/or writing.
  • Completion of the WAFC Retail Management Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the departments.
  • Support day-to-day functions of Grocery, Natural Foods, Adult Beverage, and Drug/GM operations.
  • Encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values.
  • Establish performance goals for the department.
  • Develop appropriate scheduling to manage customer volume.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Understand the store's layout and locate products.
  • Implement the promotional plan for the departments.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the departments.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Demonstrate creative merchandising.
  • Condition all products according to company policy.
  • Maintain workload to meet stocking time standards.
  • Integrate best practice work processes into daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor control, and safety rules.
  • Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report safety risks or illegal activities.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports on their performance.
  • Complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
