About The Position

The Cashier’s Assistant, sometimes referred to as a Courtesy Clerk or Bagger, supports the front-end team by providing exceptional Guest Service and ensuring an efficient, welcoming checkout experience. This entry-level role is responsible for bagging groceries, retrieving carts, restocking bagging supplies, and helping maintain a clean and organized front-end area. The Cashier’s Assistant also offers assistance to Guests with carrying purchases to their vehicles when needed.

Requirements

• You are at least 16 years of age.
• You are friendly, approachable, and enjoy providing helpful service to Guests.
• You are dependable, detail-oriented, and take pride in completing tasks efficiently.
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to support your team.
• You are a team player who is willing to help wherever needed to keep front-end operations running smoothly.
• A positive attitude and a passion for Guest Service.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
• Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, retrieve carts, lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Bag Guest groceries carefully and efficiently, ensuring products are packed safely.
• Offer assistance to Guests in carrying purchases to their vehicles when requested.
• Retrieve carts from parking areas and return them to staging zones for Guest use.
• Restock bagging and front-end supplies, such as bags, paper, and cleaning materials.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized front-end area by managing trash, spills, and carts.
• Provide courteous, professional support to cashiers and Guests at all times.
• Follow all Plum Market policies, procedures, and safety standards.
