About The Position

Assist the Grocery Dept Manager by managing the grocery and receiving departments to promote sales, achieves profit margins, labor goals and exceeds customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Able to conduct proper training
  • Ability to supervise the department personnel
  • Ability to understand, read and record department's invoices and paperwork
  • Managerial skills
  • Communication skills; verbal and written
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow through training, reports and supervision tasks, properly working, clean, full and organized department
  • Develops department schedules, promotions, sales forecast
  • Successfully oversees grocery day and night crew shifts while maintaining retail standards
  • Oversee suppliers invoices and returns
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking merchandize
  • Requests and ensure proper signage
  • Trains new grocery and receiving employees, utilizing all training checklists and materials
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding margin and sales targets
  • Controls spoilage / shrink; achieves turn goals and inventory control
  • Orders merchandize for the department per standard practice
  • Ensures strategy is reconciled among company direction and category strategy
  • Requests promotional activities related to Seasonal Promotions, Demo Supports, Events, etc
  • Determines cause and actions to address and resolve challenges
  • Creates, administers and measures quarterly budgets
