About The Position
The Grinding Utility Operator plays a crucial role in the shipping department, responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of logistics and inventory management. This position involves loading trucks, managing live and staged loads, and operating a forklift at an expert level. The operator will also be responsible for the operation of the site yard dog and will have direct ship responsibilities, which include the proper handling of hold products, food safety hold products, and released products. The role requires accountability for Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Bill of Lading (BOL) documentation, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the inventory system. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Grinding Utility Operator will support the Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with the shipping department. This includes effective communication with line and logistics operators to ensure timely replenishment of materials and managing the First In, First Out (FIFO) program for materials management. Cross-training with other Logistic Material Handler positions is also a requirement, emphasizing the need for versatility and teamwork within the shipping department. All site associates, including the Grinding Utility Operator, are responsible for maintaining quality and adhering to food safety standards, which are critical in the food manufacturing industry.
