The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Grinding Operator I, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Read and use basic measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, protractors, and etc.) to ensure product meets specifications. Performs basic grinding and hardness testing on a variety of wheel specs Performs grinding, hardness testing, and gluing for all wheel types with guidance; requires sign-off by supervisor or designee. Work from blueprints to complete all steps of operation and perform setup on machine for surface and Outside Diameter (OD) grinding without assistance Read and perform operations on basic core print and recognize the difference in the core material

Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • Work First Shift (6AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Thursday), ability to work on weekends, working overtime, rotating shifts, and/or short notice shift coverage
  • Performs at an acceptable level to meet quantity and quality requirements in order to continue employment: probationary period is 3 months.
  • Must be able to use basic measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, protractors, and etc.) to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Requires production and inspection experience to perform duties. Operate equipment (lathe and drill press) following department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills and is able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
