About The Position

Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Welder works from customer drawings, fabricate and weld components to produce the highest quality products, while meeting departmental performance standards, customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experienced working in fiberglass (infusion background).
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment is required to include wearing a respirator when handling hazardous products. Candidates are expected to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and climb stairs frequently. Lifting up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one to three years’ experience working with fiberglass, resins, and catalysts in the marine industry or similar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use of hand/power tools to measure and cut materials to required dimensions
  • Working with resin saturated fiberglass molds to produce and bond together components
  • Clean, wax and prepare molds for use
  • Grinding fiberglass
  • Preparing surfaces for coating, maintaining sandblasting equipment, mixing or blending, and applying primer coatings by spray, brush or roller, and preparing equipment to be send to the Assembly Plant.
  • Painting the finish surfaces
  • General knowledge of surface preparation and use of paints, epoxies, resins, and other coatings associated with industrial painting.
  • General knowledge of conventional and airless spray equipment and its use.
  • General knowledge of non- destructive coating inspection wet mil gauges.
  • Safety practices of the work, hand tools and air operated equipment used in the work.
  • Mix and apply primer coatings to surfaces and equipment associated with natural gas compressors and pumps.
  • Wash, mask and tape areas surrounding surfaces to be painted
  • Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, sprayers and other related equipment.
  • Read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and safety and operation instructions.
  • Additional duties as needed
