About The Position
BHS Corrugated is a global leader in corrugating technology, automation, and high-precision manufacturing. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled 3rd Shift Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role offers a unique advantage: you will work a 30-hour weekly schedule while receiving premium compensation and full-time benefits structured to reflect a traditional 40-hour role. At BHS, we understand the level of expertise required for precision grinding and have aligned our pay to attract and retain top technical talent. As a key part of our overnight operations, you will independently operate two FANUC-controlled profile grinders and one Siemens-controlled OD grinder, ensuring exceptional accuracy and consistent output.
Requirements
- Experience operating CNC or manual grinding equipment (FANUC or Siemens preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and machine specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
- Proficiency with basic math and precision measuring tools.
- Physical ability to: Stand, walk, bend, twist, and climb for extended periods Safely lift and maneuver 30+ lbs Navigate equipment, ladders, and stairs Work in varying temperature environments
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor two FANUC profile grinders and one Siemens OD grinder with precision and consistency.
- Set up machines, adjust tooling, and interpret blueprints to meet exact engineering specifications.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Maintain all required tolerances and surface finishes according to engineering drawings.
- Conduct routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.
- Accurately document production data, deviations, and completed work in the shop system.
- Recommend opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency, and accuracy within your work area.
- Follow all BHS safety procedures, PPE standards, and operational protocols.
