About The Position

This is a “hands on” production operation role: Meeting USDA, MIOSHA, HACCP, GMP, and Company standards, and the supervision of a foreman, the functions of this role are to follow specifications to prepare the end product (turkey hamburger, hot dog meat etc). Assembles and disassembles the grinder. Adds CO2 as necessary. Operating and performing role at speeds necessary to meet production demands. Operating under the OSHA & MIOSHA safety standards and rules when using any equipment or machinery. And any other tasks assigned by his/her manager and/or foreman.

  • Must be able to learn other jobs for the purpose of rotation.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to follow all the rules and procedures established by the HACCP program.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work safely at all times.
  • Must maintain perfect attendance.
  • Must be able to perform other tasks assigned by lead person, foreman or manager.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to and must wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment required while performing role: Protective eye wear Hearing protection Hard hat Hair net Beard net – (if applicable) Protective coat (clothing protector) Plastics gloves – (if activities require it) Cotton gloves – (if activities require it) Plastic aprons – (if activities require it)
  • Steel-toed, waterproof footwear
  • Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the role as outlined.
  • Using fingers, hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders, must be able to assemble and disassemble machinery.
  • Must be able to obtain a powered industrial truck permit.
  • Must be able to pass lockout/tag out training for authorized associates and obtain lockout/tagout equipment.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, and stand for 8 hours or the duration of the shift, in a wet, cold environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 17 lbs. using accepted lifting techniques.
  • Physical attributes of the job: It’s approximately a 38” to 40” high tank. The product must be leveled with a shovel and the shovel can be raised with a motion as high as 65” to 67”.
