About The Position

About HPF: Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, fatigue rated, close tolerance fasteners using materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, nickel alloy, titanium, waspaloy, A-286, monel and multiphase. Our fasteners have supported mission aircrafts such as; Joint Strike Fighters, F/A 18 Super Hornet, and Falcon 9; just to name a few. We are dedicated to providing a superior product to our customers. Job purpose: To operate the centerless grinding equipment and CNC grinding machinery as needed through programming, quality control, and precise calibrated measurements to produce finished pieces that measure to the exact work order.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years related experience of related experience desired
  • HS diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of experience/education
  • Intermediate knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods as well CNC and Centerless Grinding equipment
  • A candidate must have a desire to continually learn and develop technical skills
  • Basic knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, document management, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology to include Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, and ladders
  • Must be able to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment (man lifts, ladders, and stand)
  • Must be able to lift up to 45lbs
  • Subject to environmental conditions -protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • Subject to hazards to include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • Subject to loud constant noise
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation

Responsibilities

  • Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems
  • Move machine controls to index work pieces, and to adjust machines for pre-selected operational settings
  • Study blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences
  • Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as gauges or micrometers
  • Record or verify operational or production data including verifying that pan tags match the router information
