About The Position

The Grinder Form/Tool Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating various types of cutter grinding machines to grind high speed steel and carbide cutting tools to specified angles, radii, and clearances. This includes working with circular, flat, and irregularly shaped tools, and setting up work to extremely close tolerances. The specialist selects appropriate wheels, feeds, and speeds, and dresses wheels as required. Additionally, the role may involve grinding or sharpening all types of cutters and setting up cutting tool assemblies for machine tools, as well as grinding crush rolls.

Requirements

• Five years of related experience.
• Three years of experience as a Grinder, Form Tool.
• 60 days of tool setting training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with circular, flat, and irregularly shaped tools.
