About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for preparing and cooking various food choices for residents, employees, and visitors while maintaining a high level of quality service. It is also responsible for cleaning and proper usage of equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent
Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 35 pounds
Detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English
Capable of acting and intervening independently in routine and emergency situations
Self-motivated with wise time scheduling and adaptability to changes
Deals tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, customer-first manner
Available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
Working knowledge of HACCP and OSHA protocols (additional training can be provided).

Nice To Haves

Preferred minimum of one year cooking experience in an institutional food service environment.
Fluency in a second language is a plus.
