About the position
The position involves greeting patients, family members, and visitors at Ochsner Health, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. The role is crucial in assisting patients with their needs upon arrival, directing them to appropriate departments, and maintaining a clean and orderly entrance area. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients/visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assists patients in/out of vehicles safely.
- Directs patients/visitors to the appropriate departments and accurately answers their questions.
- Works harmoniously with volunteers and medical personnel to ensure a steady supply of wheelchairs at front doors throughout the day.
- Maintains assigned entrances in a clean and orderly manner.
- Participates in activities for personnel development and required training.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication styles.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write to communicate and give instructions to patients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good judgment skills.
- Telephone skills.
