About The Position

Cherokee Town & Country Club in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking to hire a Full-Time Greenskeeper to assist in maintaining the golf course and upkeep of the ground on our North or South Course. The club is recognized as one of the top-rated Platinum Clubs of America and offers a program where individuals can learn the intricacies of golf course maintenance and grow their careers under the guidance of industry leaders. A Greenskeeper is primarily responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds. Cherokee Town and Country Club, chartered in 1956, is celebrated as one of America's premier private clubs, with its Town Club located on the Grant Estate in Buckhead and its Country Club near the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs. The club's commitment to excellence in facilities, dining, and member services has earned it numerous honors and awards. Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 Ibs. at a time without injury.
  • Ability to work outdoors and potentially work in inclement weather.
  • Ability to traverse the property of the Town and Country clubs and walk 6+ miles a day.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of golf course maintenance.
  • Experience with plant survival, planting, cultivating, caring for trees, flowers, shrubs, and turf in the Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Learning and understanding the full layout of the golf courses while safely operating utility vehicles, carts, and large maintenance equipment.
  • Performing bunker maintenance using hand tools or mechanical equipment.
  • Using various small power tools and hand tools for daily tasks.
  • Mowing tees and greens with walking and riding mowers.
  • Mowing fairways and roughs with large multi-blade riding machines.
  • Rolling greens with mechanized rollers.
  • Assisting with landscaping projects such as planting and sod installation.
  • Operating walk-behind aerifiers.
  • Properly applying pesticides and fertilizers as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support course upkeep and maintenance.
