The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology is encouraging applicants for the Greenhouse Manager position! The Greenhouse Manager plays a vital role in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EBIO) by overseeing the full scope of greenhouse operations, ensuring the facility effectively supports research, teaching, and service initiatives. This position applies advanced knowledge of plant cultivation, environmental regulation, and facility management to address complex challenges related to plant health, research project needs, and facility maintenance. Working autonomously, the Greenhouse Manager devises and applies plans for improving workflow and addressing challenges to improve greenhouse operations, research, and outreach. This role provides expert-level guidance and leadership, supervising staff, student employees, and volunteers while serving as the primary resource for faculty and researchers using the greenhouse. The Greenhouse Manager partners closely with university partners to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards and coordinates with Facilities Management on HVAC, irrigation, and infrastructure improvements. Additionally, this position manages greenhouse budgets, oversees its procurement, and directs facility enhancements and renovations, ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of greenhouse programs.
