About The Position

The Greenhouse Gas Reporting and Verification Engineering Lead (Environmental Engineer 5) position within the Climate Pollution Reduction Program (CPRP) at the Department of Ecology is responsible for developing engineering analyses to ensure the accuracy and quality of greenhouse gas emissions data from industrial facilities. This senior role involves establishing verification methods, mentoring other engineers, and fostering relationships with regulated industries to collaboratively reduce emissions. The position supports the agency's mission to protect Washington's environment and implement policies to meet statutory greenhouse gas emission limits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience in engineering analysis related to greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Strong understanding of greenhouse gas reporting and verification protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Cap-and-Invest Program or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis software.
