About The Position

A highly skilled student technician is needed to work with PI O’Brien in the department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences in performing scholarly work, including data collection, analysis and manuscript preparation for projects on Duckweed Green Manures. The technician will contribute to laboratory management and mentorship of less experienced trainees. This position is expected to run through September 2026, but candidates who need to vacate the position sooner are still encouraged to apply!

Requirements

• Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year additional experience.
• Ability to run EPA standard nitrogen tests from water samples, perform microbiome data analysis, and provide scientific writing.

Responsibilities

• Performing EPA standard nitrogen tests on water samples. (33.3%)
• Performing microbiome and other data analysis using statistical software (R, QIIME2, etc.). (33.3%)
• Drafting scientific manuscripts for publication. (33.3%)
