About The Position

The Green Coffee Handler at Stumptown Coffee plays a crucial role in the Roasting Department, ensuring that unroasted green coffee is prepared according to the daily schedule. This position involves facilitating the movement of both unroasted and roasted coffee, maintaining cleanliness and organization in various areas of the facility, and coordinating with multiple teams to optimize workflow. The role is essential for supporting the roasting process and requires effective communication and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and maneuver 150 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft D365, Cropster, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and flexibility in prior roles.
  • Prior forklift, electric pallet-jack, and reach stacker experience preferred.
  • Driver's license and clean driving record preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with current GMPs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Demand Planner(s) to coordinate and support the day's workflow and update/modify work orders within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP).
  • Monitor green inventory and work with the Roasting Manager to ensure the team is prepared for recipe transitions.
  • Portion out and stage green coffee in anticipation of daily and weekly roasting needs.
  • Assist in loading green coffee into the roasting machines using required equipment and following ergonomic practices.
  • Receive coffee deliveries daily, checking shipments for accuracy using equipment like electric pallet trucks and forklifts.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate green coffee inventory, including routine counts and updates to Google documents and recipe systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and cleaning activities in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
