About The Position

As a Green Building Market Development you will contribute directly to the work of the Global growth, Market Development, GBCI Europe, Eastern Europe by supporting real projects that impact our organization and mission. You will report to Market Development Director, Eastern Europe and collaborate with teams such as Marketing, Education. During this internship, you will focus on the following problem, opportunity, or research question: Increase and accelerate participation LEED and TRUE certification programs across Eastern Europe  Analyze existing barriers to the adoption of LEED on all levels within the built environment – existing buildings, new construction projects, entire portfolios, communities and cities This work will support the GBCI Europe Workplan for 2026 specifically for the region Eastern Europe and help inform future decisions, policies, or improvements. You will also : Gain hands-on experience working on meaningful initiatives Develop professional and technical skills Partner with experienced professionals across teams Lead a defined project with measurable outcomes Expected Outcomes By the end of the internship, you are expected to deliver: Policy brief and presentation on the active green city programs and initiatives relevant in Easter Europe and the participating cities  Datasets on LEED registrations and certification by building sector for specific countries in Eastern Europe  Generate a list of top LEED users in the region and provide analysis and information about these organizations  Presentations with relevant LEED data and support on the delivery of 2-3 business breakfasts Final presentation for the Intern Showcase

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internships, research projects, volunteer work, or relevant coursework in sustainability, urban development, policy or analytics
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters in Environmental Science, Sustainable Finance, Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Sustainable Development or Architecture
  • Familiarity with: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point LEED, BREEAM, EDGE green building certification tools Preferred familiarity with Power BI and Salesforce

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and support LEED adoption initiatives to facilitate the successful uptake of LEED v5 in Eastern Europe
  • Conduct research on LEED registration and certification data by country and building type and summarize findings for internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with GBCI Europe, Marketing and Education teams to gather insights and coordinate deliverables
  • Track progress and document work using Word, Excel, Power Point and Power BI
  • Develop reports, presentations, and written materials for leadership and partners
  • Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and learning sessions
  • Support data collection, evaluation, and quality assurance activities
  • Contribute to improving internal documentation and workflows
  • Maintain accurate records of weekly hours worked
  • Prepare and deliver a final project/research presentation
